OJS Upgrade

Upgrading Open Journal Systems (OJS) involves installing a newer version of the software on your server. Before upgrading, it's important to make sure your server meets the system requirements for the new version, and to back up your existing installation and database.

To upgrade OJS: download the latest version from the Public Knowledge Project website or GitHub, extract and copy the new files over your installation (replacing old files), run the upgrade script via the "Upgrade" page in the OJS management interface, and test the upgraded installation. We recommend performing the upgrade on a staging server first. Before any OJS upgrade, we take a backup of your database and other essential files — contact us for the latest stable OJS version.
